Where
is Villas Buena Vida?
Rincon de Guayabitos is a beautiful 45 minute drive from Puerto
Vallarta International Airport….see “Instructions
on how to get to Guayabitos from Puerto Vallarta” page. It
is important to note that Puerto Vallarta is in the Central Time Zone
and Guayabitos in the Mountain Time Zone. Remember when catching your
plane back home!
Go left (north) from the Airport. When you cross the River Rio de Ameca, you are now in the State of Nayarit, leaving the State of Jalisco. At this point, turn your clocks BACK one hour! You just left the Central Time Zone and are now on Mountain Time. Important to remember when you catch your plane at PVR which is on Central Time. You are on Federal Highway#200, a 45 minute drive from the Airport to Guayabitos-LaPenita. When you get to Rincon de Guayabitos at approximately milepost 95 km - see the water tower, turn left and the Oficina de Turismo (Tourist Office) is right there. A very short block and turn left again. You will see street vendors selling beach articles, primarily. When you see the Church on the left, take the first turn to the right (towards the beach) after the Church. Another short block at end of street and a left and there is VILLAS BUENA VIDA! - right on the beach.
Another alternative is the bus (autobus). The bus station is about a mile north of the Airport - take a taxi to the bus terminal. Buses leave about every hour and stop in LaPenita, the town about a mile from Guayabitos. When you get there, the taxi is about 30 pesos to VILLAS BUENA VIDA.
It is easy to exchange dollars to pesos at the Airport to the left of the baggage claim area. You can either exchange or use the ATM machine. We also have an ATM next to Villas Buena Vida.

Reservations:
We require a minimum of three night deposit to hold your reservation or a 50% deposit for the last two weeks of December and during Mexico Spring Break – Holy Week/Semana Santa and the following week Semana Pascua. The balance is payable on check-in. We prefer and encourage cash payment and provide a cash discount. Visa and Mastercard are also accepted.
Cancellations:
We will provide a full refund of your deposit if notified at least 30 days prior to your arrival date. We understand that emergencies happen, and we strive to be as flexible as possible for your refund. Let us know as soon as possible of any change in plans.
Check In:
Check in is at 3 pm. Of course, if your Villa is ready, you will be able to check right in on arrival. Departure is no later than Noon. This allows us time to prepare the Villa for our arriving guests. We can store your belongings if you are departing later. Check with the Front Desk.
Changing US and Canadian dollars to pesos:
Bancomer in LaPenita has an ATM machine and they also change dollars to pesos. If you are using travelers checks, be sure to take your passport to the Bank to cash the checks! There are stores in Guayabitos that also will exchange money. There is an ATM machine at the Puerto Vallarta Airport – to the left as you come out of baggage claim. There are normally no lines and it is very quick. There is an ATM machine by Villas Buena Vida as well for your convenience.
E-mail
We will be happy to receive e-mails for you. It is important that you have people sending you e-mails put your name and villa number in the subject line - we cannot deliver to you without that infomation! There are two cyber-cafes just two blocks from Villas Buena Vida for sending your email messages. The cost is nominal. We also have wireless available at the hotel - just check with the front desk for access.
Coffee Pots and other amenities:
Coffee pots may be available in your room if requested. We have limited supply of toasters, irons, microwaves, VCR and baby crib. There is a charge for microwaves and VCRs. We also have a coin operated washer & dryer for your convenience.
Activities available during your stay:
Relaxing, horseback riding, swimming, birding, sight seeing, boat rentals for whale watching, snorkeling and sport fishing for dorado, marlin, huachinango, sierra and mero. Kyle, 12 year old guest from Anchorage, Alaska did catch a very large sail fish!

for Private Pilots
The landing strip called el Llano just north of Rincon de Guayabitos/ La Penita has recently been paved. It is also a 10 minute flight north of Puerto Vallarta Airport and a 5 minute drive north of Villas Buena Vida in Rincon de Guayabitos, (see page 38, 20th edition of McCormick/Senterfitt's Airports of Mexico).
Villas Buena Vida will make arrangements for a taxi to pick you up at El Llano if you call ahead of time on the land phone and then buzz the resort area of Rincon de Guayabitos two times.
